How hard is it to cancel Wix?

Wix scores 81/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US, a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Wix Premium and Studio plans can be canceled entirely online via the Premium Subscriptions dashboard (More Actions > Cancel Plan > Cancel Now). Cancellation stops auto-renewal; the plan remains active through the end of the paid billing period unless canceled within the 14-day first-purchase window, in which case it terminates immediately. A full refund is available only for first-time purchases canceled within 14 days; renewals, upgrades, and domain purchases are non-refundable, with refunds taking up to 45 business days to process. Each additional service (domains, business email, apps) must be canceled separately.

How to cancel Wix

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.wix.com/en/article/canceling-a-wix-premium-plan
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option exists; Wix recommends switching to a monthly billing cycle as the closest alternative for flexibility.
  • Refund policy: https://support.wix.com/en/article/requesting-a-refund-for-a-premium-plan
  • Account/data deletion: Closing an account is a multi-step process (cancel subscriptions, remove domains, move sites to trash, then close account). Account closure alone does not erase data from Wix databases; users must separately request permanent deletion to erase all information from Wix's systems. A dedicated permanent-deletion flow exists in account settings. https://support.wix.com/en/article/closing-your-wix-account

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights, scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
